I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the middle child of two Navy officers. From an early age, I was taught the values of service, discipline, and responsibility. Those principles have guided my life and career, and they are what inspire me to seek public office today.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport and later completed my Master’s in Teaching at SUNY Binghamton. After working several jobs to support myself and save for law school, I attended the University of Dayton School of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctor and met my best friend and future wife.
Upon passing the bar exam, I began practicing law in New York City. I spent twenty-four years in insurance defense litigation and fifteen years representing individuals in plaintiff’s personal injury cases. Practicing on both sides of the courtroom has given me a balanced perspective. I understand the concerns of businesses and insurers, as well as the challenges faced by individuals and families seeking justice.
Throughout my nearly four-decade legal career, I have tried countless cases, argued motions and appeals, and built a reputation for preparation, integrity, and fairness. I co-authored a legal text with John Moore, published several articles in The Defendant, and contributed to the New York Law Journal. I am currently admitted to practice law in both North Carolina and New York.
My wife and I raised our two children in Summit, New Jersey, instilling in them the same values of hard work, integrity, and service that shaped my own life. As our children have grown and begun pursuing their own paths, we have embraced the opportunity to put down roots here in North Carolina.
I am running for North Carolina State Representative because I believe it is time for thoughtful, principled change in leadership. After many years of the same voices and the same approaches, our district deserves fresh perspective, independent thinking, and a renewed focus on serving the people, not politics.
After a career dedicated to advocating for others and navigating complex legal systems, I am prepared to bring steady leadership, careful judgment, and practical problem-solving to Raleigh. I understand how laws affect real people from families, workers, small business owners, and retirees, and I believe government should work with clarity, fairness, accountability, and a willingness to adapt when change is needed.
It would be my honor to represent the people of North Carolina’s 17th District and to serve with the same commitment to integrity, service, and forward-thinking leadership that has defined my life.
